1850 an entire wrapper dated inside for July 18th, bearing a 1d red-brown issue addressed to Lochdar being tied by a vertical strike of the type I "Howmore" Isle of South Uist, Scots Local handstamp in deep blue ink with alongside a further strike and an additional strike on reverse. This is the only known example of this mark cancelling an adhesive recorded by us. Bov#794
