1845 an envelope addressed to Edinburgh bearing an 1841 2d blue plate 3 issue, which has been tied by the "321" numeral of Tarbert in black ink and bears at lower left the circular Glencarradle/Tarbert handstamp in green ink with date inserted in manuscript for "Sept 16 1845". Surviving entires suggest that this handstamp was used at Tayinloan ( mileage mark on reverse) to identify mail associated with the circular route through Glencarradale. This is the first example of this private post that we have seen with an 1841 2d issue. Bov#54
