1855 1d red-brown a horizontal pair on a wrapper addressed to Wolverhampton from Edinburgh both being tied by the “Castle Street” Scots Local handstamp in black ink. On arrival the wrapper was re-addressed to Cheltenham with the addition of a further horizontal pair of 1855 1d red-brown issues SC Perf 14 C3 plate 7, lettered EG/EH being tied by the Wolverhampton “spoon” duplex dated for JY 1 1855. A rare and most unusual Scottish/English combination cover.
