1881 an envelope bearing a 1d lilac issue addressed to Dunoon being tied by the "163" duplex of Greenock dated for SP 23 81 and bearing the cachet "Posted on Board/"Edinburgh Castle" / Steamer" in purple ink. The "Edinburgh Castle" sailed the Greenock - Lochgoilhead route. Only two examples of this handstamp have been recorded. Bov#851
