1856 An envelope bearing a 6d mauve embossed issue paying the “Officers” rate to Lieut Col C.L.Cocks, of the Coldstream Guards, British Army, Crimea”, being tied by the London “26” numeral in black ink and bearing on reverse the Charing Cross straight line handstamp in blue ink and dated on reverse for OC 22 1856. A rare and most attractive cover.
